Beta Sigma Village Medical/Dental Mission

Beta Sigma Operation Tuli and Medical/Dental Caravan at our Beta Sigma Village, Brgy Guihing, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur on 25 April 2008.

The event includes the following activities:
1. Operation Tuli
2. Dental Lecture;
3. Oral Hygeine Lecture;
4. Lecture on Phil Health (by Brod Cleo Banes);
5. Lecture on Family Planning

Assembly is at the Caltex Starmart, Quimpo Blvd (in front of Dona Luisa Subd), Davao City at 730 am. Brods na walang sasakyan punta na lang dun at singit singit na lang.

UP Visayas Centennial Forest project

The UPV Centennial Forest project is a humble contribution of UPV Beta Sigma Fraternity to arrest the detrimental effects of global warming and environmental degradation. The Centennial Forest is located within the campus of the University of the Philippines in the Visayas in Miag-ao, Iloilo.

The University of the Philippines in Miag-ao is the biggest campus of the UP system. It covers 8 barangays spanning 1200 hectares of rolling hills and beaches. However, only 600 hectares of the total land area are fully utilized.

The UPV administration has reached an agreement with the UPVBSFAA to develop 3 hectares of land for reforestation. The Fraternity will be the lead organization in developing the said area into a full blown mini forest site.

The UPVBSFAA on the other hand has bigger plans for the site. The Brothers have all agreed that the organization should go beyond tree planting and reforestation. We envision the site to become a fully functional Forest Park in the future.

The Fraternity believes that this noble project will have significant impact not just for the UP and Miag-ao communities but also for the entire country.

2nd day PM- Elections- Danarra Hotel, Kamagong Hall, Panay Avenue, QC - (to be reconfirmed 1 day before event)
2nd day night till dawn- first stop- Gerardo's Grill, infront of ABS-CBN, then jug-hopping in timog
3rd and 4th day, sports, recreation, and fun filled activities. Details to follow.

BSFAAI Manila East Assembly Annual Project

You are invited to attend Manila East Assembly's annual project at the Liwasang Aurora, Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City on March 30, 2008. Services such as, free blood sugar determination, free eye checkup and glasses, free dental checkup and tooth extraction, ECG, legal advice, veterinary services which include free rabies shots for pets, and blood donations for the red cross will also be available.

Assembly time for our activity is at 7 am., March 30, 2008, Sunday. Please wear your yellow shirts.

Beta Sigma Village Groundbreaking Ceremonies

You are all invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremonies of
Beta Sigma Village Gawad Kalinga in Barangay Guihing, Hagonoy Davao Del Sur on March 8, 2008. We should all be proud of this project because we will be instrumental in giving decent housing and other basic needs for the poor people of our nation. We should also be proud that we are the first fraternity in the Philippines to sponsor an entire GK village.

This project also represents our ability to work together and greatly give the poor members of our country the dignity they deserve.

Support and contributions such as money, time, talent, building
materials, food, medicine, and other forms of donations will be
highly appreciated. Several Beta Sigma volunteers from around the
world will participate in the actual building of the houses.

2nd Tito de Santos Memorial Medical Mission

The U.P. Beta Sigma Fraternity of Southern California Chapter is sponsoring the 2nd Tito de Santos Memorial Medical Mission on Feb. 27 - March 02, 2008 at the Notre Dame of Tacurong College Gymnasium , Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat Province.

This medical and dental uplift is headed by Sonny Pagador and Dr. Frank Mamaril, with members Vale Valenzuela, and Ernie Tremor joining the delegation. Sis Viching de Santos, wife of the late Tito de Santos is also partaking in this mission. Bing Garcia, Dr. Raschid Chin,  together with the rest of the Cotabato brothers will host the project, while Art De Vera of Canada Chapter will be in charge of procuring the medicines from Health Partners International of Canada  (H.P.I.C.).
